If you have moved from Windows xp,vista,7 to windows 8,you might have noticed that whenever you try to block a site using host file ,you get an error.This is because you need to have administrator privilege to block sites in Windows 8.Just follow the below procedure to do the same.
Steps to be followed
1.Press Winkey + X and select command prompt (Admin)
2.In the command prompt window type notepad
3.In the notepad , open the host file by going to File > open
4.Now add the sites you want to block as shown below and click save.
Once you save the host file, try browsing those you just blocked,you will get an error
